My family is from San Angelo, I attended schools here, and I am proud to call San Angelo home.
I met Terry on ‘the drag’ here, married him in 1984 and together we have three children…we are rooted in this community. Our eldest son, Cody, is serving as a specialist in the U.S. Army and is married to Kenna, who is a student at Howard College. Our daughter, Katy, is a student at Angelo State University and our youngest child, Ryan, is a student at Central High School.
My work history includes: restaurants & catering, clothing industry, various duties for a wholesale manufacturer, a merchandiser, and I currently work as an Executive Assistant to the Partners of a local accounting firm.
My experience with and appreciation for Meals For The Elderly came years ago when I was homeschooling my two oldest children. We would include delivering meals one or two days a week as a part of our lessons. The kids enjoyed it and the meal recipients loved seeing and talking to the kids….it was a ‘win-win’ situation. There are memories we all have that will probably remain forever. As time passed, the children went into school, I went back to work and we stopped delivering meals. I never lost contact with the volunteer coordinator and I often attended the fundraising events.
I was asked to join the board in 2008. I fell in love with Meals For The Elderly many years ago, but my amazement at how so many meals can be delivered, so many people are blessed and how so many volunteers give selflessly each and every day has never waned. I am now honored to be serving as the Secretary on the Board of Directors.
