External Affairs Manager - AEP Texas

Giving back to the San Angelo community is personal for Fred. “This is where I live, work, and build relationships every day. I’ve been fortunate to receive so much throughout my life and career, and it’s my duty to pay that forward,” he says. Fred also sees AEP Texas’ role as a major company in the area as a responsibility to actively support and strengthen the communities it serves.

Being named a 2025 Community Champion is an incredible honor for Fred. “It represents far more than a title. It means my efforts to serve and support our community have made a meaningful impact,” he shares. For Fred, the recognition is both a celebration and a challenge to continue doing more for his neighbors.

Fred’s community involvement is extensive. He serves on the Board of the Boys and Girls Club of the Concho Valley, participates in Leadership San Angelo, and helps drive the AEP Texas route for Meals for the Elderly. Within his role at AEP Texas, he manages all charitable giving for his district, ensuring company resources directly benefit the community.

Favorite motto: “Pressure is a privilege” – Billie Jean King. Fred first saw this quote at a US Open match, and it stuck with him as a way to reframe stress and pressure in work and life.

Fun fact: Life outside work is full of family adventures. “What used to be weekends of golf have turned into cutting grass and keeping up with the kids, and I wouldn’t trade it for the world. Seeing my kids happy is a feeling like no other, and those moments are worth more than everything,” he says.
