For Mason, giving back is a family tradition and a personal calling. “I feel blessed to have been raised in a family who has given back in many ways,” he shares. “San Angelo is a wonderful community, and I want to do my part to make an impact through volunteerism and service, helping ensure a bright future for generations to come.”
Being named a 2025 Community Champion is a humbling honor for Mason. “Meals for the Elderly consistently meets an unmet need in our community through their mission,” he says. “I am proud to be associated with such an impactful organization and grateful for the opportunity to support their work.”
Mason’s community involvement spans professional, civic, and personal initiatives. He was recognized as a Chamber of Commerce “20 Under 40” honoree in 2022, is a graduate of the Leadership San Angelo program, and served as past-president of its alumni board. He has served on the Downtown San Angelo, Inc. board, currently serves on The Bank and Trust community board, and participates in the Honorary Commanders program at Goodfellow AFB. Mason is also the current president of the San Angelo Rotary Club. Beyond his professional and volunteer commitments, Mason treasures time with his wife Sierra and their one-year-old son, Bennett.
Two quotes guide Mason’s approach to service:
“Start where you are. Use what you have. Do what you can.” – Arthur Ashe
“Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.” – Galatians 6:9-10
When Mason isn’t serving the community, he enjoys SCUBA diving, with over 90 dives logged, including two on the Great Barrier Reef. He also has a memorable story of meeting world-famous boxer Manny Pacquiao while in Israel, where their families sang hymns and played piano together on the shore of the Sea of Galilee, a surreal experience he cherishes.
