Osvaldo knows firsthand the difference a supportive community can make. “Because I know what it’s like to struggle, I value the support these awesome nonprofit organizations provide,” he shares.

Being named a 2025 Community Champion is a true honor for Osvaldo, who is grateful for the recognition and nomination.

Through his program In The Spirit of Christmas – Light Up a Child’s Life, Osvaldo provides a wonderful experience to over 150 children and their families each year. The event takes months of planning and fundraising, starting as early as April, and includes a Christmas dinner, games, entertainment, and gifts for each child.

“It is great to see all the excitement and happiness during this event. It feels great to give back. For many of these kids, it’s one of the most exciting things to happen to them all year,” Osvaldo says.

Christmas is a time to see the best in each other, and Osvaldo took his faith in his abilities, and in the abilities of others, and combined them into a unified effort: In the Spirit of Christmas. He credits mentors like Betty Reyes and Uncle Gordo for inspiring the light that now shines in San Angelo.

Fun fact: Osvaldo is also part of the car club Devoted Onez CC, hosting free, family-friendly events like the 10th Annual Dia De Los Devoted Onez CC Car Show & Picnic. This fall, on Saturday, October 18, 2025, the show will feature live entertainment, show cars on display, door prizes, cash prizes up to $5,000, and a Final Tour Stop of the Wego Tour Midwest—all in Downtown San Angelo at Concho River Bart Dewitt Park & HopTober, sponsored by ShineBrite Lube & Wash.
