For Patrick, giving back to the community isn’t just important, it’s the foundation of the fire service and his life. “San Angelo isn’t just a place I work; it’s my home. I’ve raised my family here, built relationships here, and been supported by this community through the highs and lows,” he says. Through his role in the fire department, he shows up for people when they need it most, invests in public safety education, supports local events, mentors youth, and stands shoulder to shoulder with neighbors in times of crisis.
Being named a Community Champion is more than an honor, it’s a responsibility. “It means standing alongside an organization that makes a real difference in people’s lives every single day, ensuring that some of the most vulnerable members of our community are cared for, valued, and not forgotten,” Patrick explains.
His community involvement is extensive. Patrick serves on the board of the Military Fallen Firefighters Foundation, is Regional Director for the Texas Fire Chiefs Association, and is a Leadership San Angelo graduate. He’s a past board member of the Concho Valley Boys and Girls Club, volunteered as a Boy Scout leader, and participated in the San Angelo Symphony Guild. He is also a graduate of the Honorary Commander Program at Goodfellow Air Force Base.
Patrick is guided by Isaiah 6:8: “Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, ‘Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?’ And I said, ‘Here am I. Send me!’” This scripture reflects his commitment to answering the call, stepping forward to serve and protect whenever needed.
A career fire service professional since 2001, Patrick has risen through the ranks from Firefighter/Paramedic to Fire Chief, serving in leadership, training, and administrative roles. He has earned numerous professional credentials, including Master Firefighter, Fire Officer IV, Hazardous Materials Incident Commander, and Licensed Paramedic, and continues to pursue accreditation as a Chief Fire Officer (CFO).
Outside of work, Patrick and his wife Kristy are proud parents of two sons attending Texas Tech University.
