For Tammy, giving back is personal, this is home. “This is where I’ve built my life, raised my family, and built relationships that mean the world to me,” she says. “I truly believe a strong, thriving community comes from people who are willing to show up for one another. Whether through organized initiatives or stepping in when there’s a need, I feel a responsibility to pour into the place that has poured so much into me.”

Being named a 2025 Community Champion is humbling for Tammy. “I don’t do what I do for recognition, but it means so much to know others see the heart behind the work,” she reflects. “It’s an honor to be counted among people who care deeply about making a difference, and it inspires me to keep showing up for our community.”

Tammy’s commitment to San Angelo is wide-ranging. She leads a Pay It Forward campaign in partnership with KLST, surprising and supporting local people making an impact. Over the past decade, she has volunteered wherever a need arises and played a key role in flood recovery efforts, helping families and businesses get back on their feet. As a former local business owner, she donated countless hours and balloon décor to nonprofits and fundraisers, creatively supporting causes across the Concho Valley.

Her guiding philosophy comes from Theodore Roosevelt:
“Do what you can, with what you have, where you are.”
Tammy believes that even small acts of kindness can make a meaningful difference.

Fun facts about Tammy: she once owned a balloon décor business and still loves creating with balloons as a way to support nonprofits and schools. She is also a mom to a spirited three-year-old and two adult daughters, whose presence fuels her passion for building a better community for future generations.
