Macy Gulley has a deep appreciation for the community that helped shape her. Growing up in San Angelo, she understands firsthand how meaningful it is to give back to the place that has given so much to the people who call it home.
Today, Macy serves as a Project Engineer with Atmos Energy, where she works as part of a team dedicated to serving communities across the region. Her heart for service also carries into the time she spends volunteering and supporting local organizations throughout the Concho Valley.
For Macy, giving back is a simple but powerful act. She believes helping others is a way of honoring the community that helped shape who she is today. Each opportunity to serve brings her joy and reminds her how small acts of kindness can make a meaningful difference in someone’s day.
Macy has been involved with several community efforts, including serving in the Loaned Executive program for United Way of the Concho Valley. She has also volunteered with the Concho Valley Food Bank, Neighbors Cafe, San Angelo READ!, and the United We Read Back to School Pop Up. Through these experiences, Macy has enjoyed connecting with people and helping support programs that strengthen the community.
Being named a Meals For The Elderly Community Champion means a great deal to her. Macy says she truly enjoys helping others and loves the opportunity to bring a smile to those around her.
One quote that inspires her service comes from Mother Teresa:
“Help one person at a time and always start with the person nearest you.”
Outside of work and volunteering, Macy enjoys creative hobbies and spending time with others. She recently began learning how to sew and is currently working on her first quilt. She also loves connecting with friends and family over card games, especially a good game of Bridge.
As part of the Meals For The Elderly Community Champions program, Macy will participate in a ride along with one of our volunteer delivery routes during March for Meals. This experience allows champions to see firsthand the impact of a daily meal delivery and the meaningful connections volunteers build with the seniors they serve.
Meals For The Elderly is grateful for Macy’s heart for service and for her willingness to serve as an ambassador for our mission of neighbors helping neighbors.
